Help Wanted: Building Clerk/Deputy City Clerk
The City of Huntington Woods is accepting applications for the full‐time position of Building Clerk/Deputy City Clerk.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Assist public at City Hall front counter; reviews and processes applications for a variety of licenses and permits including Building Permits; schedules inspections and final water reads; processes receipts for taxes, water, fees and other receipts; receives, screens and routes telephone calls; processes voter registrations, absentee ballots and answers questions concerning the election process, and managing the Building Department records. The job requires working closely with finance staff, the City Clerk, the Code Enforcement/Zoning Officer and Building Inspectors.
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and at least 2 years of municipal government experience is required. Building Department experience using BS&A software preferred and Election Administration desirable. Experience with cash handling procedures and account keeping techniques is desirable. Proven ability to communicate with the public over the telephone and in person is required for the position as well as the ability to adapt to varying levels of workloads and changes in work priorities.
This position interacts frequently with the public so a pleasant demeanor and helpful attitude is critical as well as the ability to multi‐task many duties and be able to complete tasks while there are frequent interruptions.

$43,000 to $45,000 depending on experience.
